Toast House On The Web

Welcome graphic

Toast House was originally a computer bulletin board system operated by Lawrence Gordon in St. Louis, Missouri. It went online July 1, 1992. During its heyday, it boasted over 750 different callers, averaging 30 calls a day. Running the Wildcat! BBS program, the InterMail frontend, and InterEcho and GEcho mail tossers, it was a member of the Fidonet, Intellec, Toadnet and Toastnet echo mail networks. Its own "Zodiac Lounge" was wildly popular and as a result was echoed to a number of bulletin board systems in the St. Louis area.

Unfortunately, the increasing use and popularity of the Internet and the World Wide Web eventually spelled doomed for many dial-up bulletin boards. Toast House BBS was not spared the grim reaper. After several years of watching one caller after another abandon and desert the BBS community for the allure of the Net, Toast House succumbed to the inevitable. On November 1, 1998, Toast House BBS ceased operations.

To keep the memory and spirit of Toast House alive, in 1999, I registered www.toasthouse.com as my own domain. Toast House now exists in this virtual world and under a new and exciting format. I hope you'll enjoy this site and visit often.
